Insecure Download Blocked

Sometimes when using Chrome attempting to download a file, you may get a message reporting Insecure download blocked requiring you to click Keep to save the file … the message would look similar to the image below:

This is not a problem but the browser is questioning if you trust the file and source to save and “keep” the file. This may have to constantly be done to finish downloading the requested files. To mitigate this message, if you trust the site, the URL for the web-site needs to be added to the Allow Insecure Content list within the settings of Chrome.

There are a couple of ways to get to the settings page to make the necessary change …

  1. Go into “Settings -> Privacy and security -> site settings -> additional content settings -> insecure content".

  2. Type “chrome://settings/content/insecureContent” into the Address bar in Chrome

Click the Add button next to Allowed to show insecure content and add the web-site URL to the Allow list for the files needing to be downloaded …

i.e use "207.186.244.254:20204” if the download file is from IntelliDealer

Once the URL has been added to the Allow list, attempt to download the file again.
