Adding a Link to an E-mail Signature in Outlook

Outlook Desktop

In Outlook, Click on FileOptions to bring up the Options box shown below:

Click on Mail → Signatures as shown below:

  1. If you have not created a Signature yet, Click on New to create a new one …

  2. Input your information, specify if you want the signature to be sent automatically with New Messages, Replies/Forwarded Messages or both.

  3. When your cursor is where you want the link placed, click on the 'globe with the chain link on it' to bring up the Link dialog box:

In the box, the URL for the site will be put in the Address box and the Text that will be shown on the signature will be put in the “Text to Display” field … i.e. ‘Credit Application’, company website, etc.

Click ‘OK’ (3) times to close and save these settings.

Outlook Mobile

There is no direct way of adding a link to the signature on a mobile device so the alternative is to copy and paste the signature sent from Outlook Desktop

  1. After setting up the signature in Outlook Desktop, send a test message to yourself

2. In Outlook Mobile, make sure that your e-mail has synced and go to your sent folder, open the test message that was sent, highlight the signature itself and click copy:

3. Click the back arrow to get back to the sent box …

4. Click the Office logo in the top left corner and click Settings “Gear” at the bottom left corner of the screen.

5. In the settings screen, click the ‘Signature’ option … Delete the default signature, click and hold in the signature window and paste the signature copied from the test message.

6. Click the Check-mark in the top right corner of the Signature window to save and close the signature

7. click the back arrow in the top left corner to get back to the Sent folder.
